Your LanceRank score is read from the platforms you actually work on, such as Upwork, Fiverr and Toptal, and refreshed when you re-sync them. There's no public "leave a review" button on your profile. A disgruntled ex-client, a bad boss, a competitor: none of them can drop in and leave a review you didn't invite.

- Yes. The free plan is free forever, not a trial. You can claim your profile, connect up to two marketplaces plus LinkedIn, verify your identity, get your LanceRank Score, send a limited number of review requests, and share your public profile link without paying. Pro is optional at $9/month or $90/year. It adds all eight marketplaces, an inbox for messages sent from your profile, unlimited review requests, profile analytics, a custom URL, the unbranded embed widget, and the option to bid for clearly labelled Featured slots. Pro does not change your score or your rank.
- Yes. Once you connect a platform, we read your public profile data (star rating, review count, completed projects, badges such as Top Rated, Pro or Level 2) and it feeds into your LanceRank Score, usually within minutes. Your platform data is refreshed when you re-sync it: Upwork, Fiverr and Toptal by opening your profile with the LanceRank Sync extension, other marketplaces from your dashboard when they fall behind. We email you when a platform is due. Individual review text is shown where the platform makes it public.
- No. A client gets an email link, clicks it, leaves a short review, and confirms. They never sign up. Reviews confirmed this way carry a "Verified review" badge and count toward your LanceRank Score. There is no public "leave a review" button on your profile. Only clients you invite can review, which is how we keep fake reviews out.
- Add the project from your dashboard. You enter the client name, email, and dates. We email them a short confirmation. If they confirm, the project shows as "Client-confirmed" on your profile and counts toward your score. This is how offline work (direct contracts, agency relationships, in-person freelancing) becomes something a new client can check.
- We currently sync Upwork, Fiverr, Toptal, Freelancer.com, PeoplePerHour, Guru, Contra, and 99designs. If yours is missing, you can still add projects with client vouching, and we add platforms based on requests. Email [email protected] with the platform you need and your username on it.
- Yes, both. Under Dashboard → Settings you can hide your profile (the public page returns a 404 and you keep your data) or request permanent deletion. Deletion requests are reviewed by a person and your data is removed within 30 days; the email address you used stays blocked from re-claiming for 90 days. For a copy of your data, email [email protected].
- Six weighted factors. Track Record (35%): volume, earnings and hours, log-scaled, with a Bayesian lift for rating quality. Recency & Tenure (20%): recent activity with an 18-month half-life, plus years on file. Claimant Credibility (20%): identity proof via Stripe Identity, LinkedIn OAuth, GitHub OAuth, or the LanceRank Chrome extension confirming you own your platform profiles. Platform Credibility (10%): your highest badge across connected platforms. LinkedIn Endorsements (10%): skill endorsements and LinkedIn profile signals imported via the Chrome extension. Skills (5%): passed LanceRank skill quizzes. The raw score is mapped through a single published curve to the number you see; that is display only and never changes your rank.
